History of the Diocese

  • Created as a Missionary District in 1907, having previously been part of the Diocese of Oregon.  Bishop Morris was Bishop of the Diocese of Oregon at the time and proposed the division of the Diocese.  The Missionary District of Eastern Oregon was created by an act of General Convention on October 14, 1907.

  • Became a Diocese in 1970.
