GENERAL CONVENTION DEPUTIES
DIOCESAN COUNCIL AND STANDING COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The following positions will be filled at the 2007
Diocesan Convention, to be held October 12-14 in Prineville, Oregon:
To be elected as 2009 GENERAL CONVENTION DEPUTIES (July 8-17, 2009,
Anaheim, CA)
4 Lay Deputies and their alternates
4 Clergy Deputies (Priest or Deacon) and their
alternates
To be elected to STANDING COMMITTEE: [regular rotation]

Those elected at the 2007 Convention will be expected to attend these
meetings: November 16-18, 2008: Planning Retreat at
Ascension School; and
TO BECOME A CANDIDATE FOR THESE POSITIONS:

Complete a
Candidate Information Form,
which may be downloaded or obtained from the person in charge of
your congregation or from the Diocesan Office. Submit completed and
copy ready candidate forms to the Diocesan Office by August 28, 2007,
for reproduction in the Pre-Convention Journal. Nominations will be
accepted following that date, but information about the candidate will not
be published. Announcement of those nominations will be
made from the floor of Convention prior to elections.
PLEASE NOTE: Qualification for candidacy for lay positions is
"confirmed adult communicants in good standing of some congregation in
canonical union with the Diocese." An "adult" is defined
as 16 years of age and older. Nominations of persons who have
not served at the Diocesan level are highly encouraged. Anyone
interested in these positions is encouraged to submit a Candidate Form.
Attendance at the 2007 Diocesan Convention is not required of candidates
but can be conducive to election.
