ascension summer camp
Ascension Camp and Conference Center in Cove is an essential ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Oregon. Established early in the last century, Ascension School's complex of buildings are located in a park-like setting of green lawns and shade trees, in the expansive Grande Ronde Valley. Structures include historic Ascension Chapel and Barton House, both built in the 1870s, as well as more modern dorms, a dining hall, an arts and crafts building and Kimsey Commons Conference Center, which opened in 1998.
Ascension Camp's summer sessions have offerings for all ages, from Discovery Camp for children pre-Kindergarten to grade two, to Young Adult Camp. There also are spring and autumn youth retreats. All the camps offer fun, fellowship, outdoor activities and an opportunity for campers to learn and grow together in a joy-filled Episcopal setting.
Camp scholarships are available through local parishes as well as Ascension School.
Adult and family activities at Ascension include Lenten retreat, Ministry Weekend in April, work weekend in late May, Adult Education in early August and Family Camp in early September.
