The Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Oregon

Gracious God,
We thank you that we are part of the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Oregon.  We thank you for the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.  We thank you for the gifts you have bestowed upon us and our congregations, that we may continue the ministry to which you have called us.

May your Church pursue with greater zeal the mission laid upon her by our Lord.  May she bring men and women, young and old, closer to God and one another.  May she offer a prophetic voice in a bewildered world and a loving presence in a saddened world.

At this time guide those bearing responsibility for this diocese as they engage in the process of selecting a Bishop.  Give them understanding, courage and wisdom as they seek your vision for your Church and as they articulate our needs in this place, both now and in the years to come.

Gracious God,
In this process of discernment, may the person of your choosing hear your call, understand the context of this ministry and receive your anointing and blessing for the tasks you have ordained.  So may this diocese continue an effective mission, serving the people of Eastern Oregon and bringing glory to your name.  Amen.

Diocesan Council Resolution
November 18, 2007

Diocesan Council resolves that we dedicate 2008 to preparing ourselves and the Diocese of Eastern Oregon for the search four our next bishop; and that we celebrate our 100 years and begin our next 100 years by ending 2008 with a call to elect a new bishop for the Diocese of Eastern Oregon.
